Cookie Money for a Good Cause
Posted: Apr 30, 2010
Windsor Girl Scout Daisy Troop 10130, from
St. Gabriel Catholic School, recently
visited Build-a-Bear to make some very
special bears! This small troop of 6 girls
sold over 560 boxes of Girl Scout cookies,
earning them money to spend on any activity
they chose. The group decided to spend
their first day of spring vacation at
Build-a-Bear in Manchester to make bears
to be donated to the Connecticut
Children’s Medical Center. After tucking
special thoughts and prayers into their
bears, the girls gathered after school
one Monday and headed to CCMC to deliver
their special gifts. They were able to
meet with a member of Family Services to
learn more about those children who would
receive their bears. They were also able
to deliver some boxes of GS cookies that
a few customers had donated. This was an
amazing experience the Daisy troop will
not forget. They are already thinking of
the next special deed they can do next
year when they have bridged to Brownies!
