Scouts Celebrate Girl Scout Sunday
Posted: Mar 8, 2011
Danbury Girl Scouts kick off Girl Scout Week by celebrating Girl Scout Sunday. The girls gathered together for a special mass at St. Joseph Church. Father Raymond Petrucci of St. Joseph Parish warmly welcomed the girls and their families. He spoke of St. Agnes, the Patron Saint of Girl Scouts. Father Petrucci explained how St. Agnes possessed the many qualities Girl Scouts try to cultivate in themselves: courage, honesty, respect for herself and for others, service to God and to her neighbor. Following mass, the girls and their families continued their celebration with a reception in the church hall. This was a wonderful opportunity for the girls to attend their place of worship together and be recognized as a girl scout.
