Application For 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session 51st Convention

The National Council Session of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. will be held October 30-November 2, 2008 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Girl Scouts of Connecticut will be eligible to send 37 delegates. There will be 10 alternates identified. If you are interested in being considered as a delegate or alternate, please complete this application and mail it to:

This application will be used by the Board Nominating and Development Committee to acquire information to build a slate of National Delegates that is representative of the Council's jurisdiction. The information requested may also be used for press releases and publicity. Please place a star next to any information you do not want publicized.

DEADLINE: March 7, 2008, 5:00PM
The Committee will review the applications in March 2008 and prepare a slate to be elected at the April 30, 2008 Special Meeting of the Council.

Delegate responsibilities:

  • Attend orientation and preparation meetings prior to the 2008 GIRL SCOUT NATIONAL COUNCIL SESSION 51st CONVENTION
  • Plan to attend all sessions in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Obtain input from the membership on issues that will be voted on at the National Council Session
  • Report back to the Council, which could include making presentations at Regional, Service Unit and Annual Meetings, and providing written reports to be distributed via e-mail or posted on the web-site
  • Serve as a National Council Delegate for the next three years and be willing to attend any additional National Meetings called
  • Wear the Girl Scout uniform at all business meetings
  • Be a citizen of the United States of America
  • Be a registered member of the Girl Scouts and fourteen (14) years of age or older
