Stop Motion Animation
Recreate a popular film with clay and an iPod! The dramatic beats of a scene are the moments where new, important information is revealed. Learn to identify these moments for good storytelling. During this three-hour workshop, analyze a popular book-to-movie script to find the dramatic beats, then work together to recreate the most important scenes with stop motion animation, a technique that involves reproducing images sequentially to create the illusion of movement. FIRST EVER Girl Scout Hackathon
In collaboration with Random Hacks of Kindness, Jr., GSOFCT brings you the first Girl Scout Hackathon at Quinnipiac University on March 5! Girls work in teams of 3-4 with representatives from nonprofit organizations and computer science mentors to develop prototype smartphone apps meant to support the effort of the nonprofits. No coding experience required! For Juniors and Cadettes. This is a drop-off event; Adults may volunteer for the day. National Girls and Women in Sports Days
Join the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Sunday, February 7! Take part in presentations on Self-Esteem, A Day in the Life of a Collegiate Student Athlete, and activities with current female QU student-athletes and coaches. Then stay for a women's basketball game against Niagara. All participants receive a QU spirit scarf and a free boxed lunch. Join the Hartford Hawks on Sunday, February 14 for a day of sports and fun! Explore different sports in clinics hosted by female student-athletes, then stay for a women's basketball game against the University of Vermont Catamounts. All participants receive a T-shirt and a complimentary game ticket; additional tickets are $5 for General admission and $7 for chairback tickets. Brilliant Brownie Day

small groups, girls practice making new friends, try some Girl Scout
Traditions, dabble in S.T.E.M. and art badges, explore body confidence,
hone communications skills through some Girlz R.U.L.E.® team challenges,
and have fun! Girls will leave with memories, new skills, ideas to
complete the badges, and a special patch for the day.
Grown-ups, we didn't forget about you! For half of the event you'll
be with the girls, assisting and seeing what they're doing. The other
half you'll be able to do your own networking and choose from various
workshops. A snack and patch are included in this event. Bring a bag

Dare to Dream
Join us for the biggest older girl event of the year! What’s your dream, and how will you get there? Join other Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors, from around the state on March 26 at the University of New Haven and spend a day focusing on the skills that will get you where you want to go. At this conference-style event, you’ll get thinking and moving in both large and small groups. We’re planning the whole thing with the help of older girls from all parts of Connecticut. Washington D.C. Trip
Come spend the weekend in wonderful Washington, D.C.! We'll take a bus trip down to D.C., leaving early morning on Friday, May 20, 2016, and returning Sunday, May 22. Activities will include a night bus tour of the city and monuments, the National Zoo, and free time with your group to explore D.C. on your own.
