GSOFCT SPEAKER SERIES
ONLY ONE EVENT LEFT!


 Based on the latest research from the Girl Scout Research Institute, “The State of Girls: Unfinished Business,” the Girl Scout speaker series sponsored by First Niagara will inspire thought, conversation, and solutions. Hosted by a guest emcee, each event will include a short presentation of the data followed by a panel discussion from local experts.

WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!


2014 National ConventionJoin the GSOFCT National Delegation on October 2 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. for an open member webinar where the National Proposals and a discussion topic on The Outdoor Experience will be presented. The Delegation would like input from you, our membership, so please register today. If you're unable to attend, please complete our survey. All responses will be reviewed by the Delegation and help them best represent our Council.

GIRL SCOUT VOICES


We want to hear from you! Sign up now to be part of a panel and have a voice in the future of Girl Scouts. You will take an introductory survey and then be invited to take 1-3 surveys over the course of the year. Just check out the Girl Scout Voices site!




MUSEUM DOCENT INFO MEETING


The GSOFCT Museum houses local and international items, handbooks from years past, pins and accessories, a collection of dolls in replica uniforms, and much more. A visit to the museum is an opportunity to explore the story of Girl Scouting in Connecticut and around the world. Join us to learn about ways you can be involved with the museum on Saturday, October 4, from 9:30 — 10:30 a.m. at the GSOFCT Museum, located in room 107 on the first floor of the North Haven Service Center. Please RSVP to historical@gsofct.org.


UNITING TO "BAN BOSSY"

Ban Bossy
Girl Scouts of the USA and Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO, author of Lean In, and founder of LeanIn.org have partnered to empower girls to lead. Ban Bossy is about coming together to encourage girls to pursue leadership roles at home, at school, and in their lives by challenging people to stop using the word "bossy." UPCOMING GIRL PROGRAMS

Girl Scout Day at Quassy Amusement Park
Join Girl Scouts of Connecticut for this fun-filled family event on Sunday, October 5. Come as a troop or a family. In the private picnic grove, enjoy a buffet lunch and dive into a variety of QSP carnival themed games. Activities will include feed the otter, fish for fishies, a relay race, face painting, and more! After lunch, enjoy all of the rides and activities the park has to offer. Fun patch included. Register online or with this flyer. $20 per person.


airplaneWomen Take Flight!
Let your imagination take off at the New England Air Museum on November 2 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Meet extraordinary women, see planes up close, and do fun activities! Admission is $6.00 for children 11 and under, and $8.50 for ages 12 and up. See the New England Air Museum website for more info or to pre-register groups.


Girl Scout Workshops and the Microsoft Store
Come earn your Girl Scout badge at Microsoft Westfarms! All workshops are FREE and run from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Space is limited. Visit microsoftstore.com/Westfarms to view the whole events calendar or click on the dates below to register.
