Girlz R.U.L.E. ™ Training
Volunteers are needed to facilitate Girlz R.U.L.E.™
More Info
Girlz R.U.L.E. ™ (Respect, Understand, Lead, Empower) is an anti-bullying program designed for girls. Girl Scouts of Connecticut has developed this signature program and plans and preparations are underway to expand it’s reach throughout the state.
Volunteers are needed to facilitate this program. Girlz R.U.L.E.™ is offered to girls in grades three through eight and may be facilitated during school hours, immediately after school, or in one-day workshops or events.
Girlz R.U.L.E.™ is a “challenge initiative” program. Challenge initiatives give directions to a group requiring all participants to work together to solve the given task. The challenges create situations that can be used as metaphors for the trials girls frequently encounter. Role-playing games and physical problem solving activities improve communication skills and create an atmosphere of cooperation and common purpose through brainstorming and encourages girls to verbalize coping skills through reflective time.
A facilitator training is scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2011 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM at the Dekoven House, 27 Washington Street, Middletown CT. Registration is required to participate in this training. Please register by September 1, 2011 by contacting Hannah Granfield at hgranfield@gsofct.org or (203) 239-2922 ext. 3309.
