GSOFCT Welcomes Members with a New Look and Programs
September 15, 2010
With an updated look, reenergized brand, and innovative programs, Girl Scouts of Connecticut is reaching a new generation of girls.
Showcasing a refreshed Girl Scout logo, a new "Girl Scout Green", and a brand message asking What did you do today?, Girl Scouts of Connecticut has updated its image to appeal to girls and the lives they lead today.
"The new look resonates with girls and the message encourages them to discover the exciting things they can do everyday as Girl Scouts," said Jennifer Smith Turner, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut.
Girl Scouts of Connecticut is also making it easier for more girls to participate in Girl Scouts by offering a variety of ways girls can experience the Girl Scout Program. In addition to the more traditional troop experience, girls may enter Girl Scouts as an individual member, through a series of programs, or through Girl Scout travel opportunities.
Every Girl Scout, no matter how she enters the Girl Scouts Program, will benefit from the unique curriculum at the core of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience which fosters leadership qualities such as self-esteem, positive values, critical thinking, and community spirit through fun, educational activities.
From a Girl Scout Daisy in Kindergarten learning about her environment and making new friends, to a Girl Scout Ambassador in High School interested in traveling to the Amazon and planning for college, the Girl Scout Program will help her discover herself and her values, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. Additionally, as a girl-led organization, girls work with adult mentors to help determine which activities they are interested in and will best suit their needs. Girl Scouts of Connecticut relies on volunteers to make many of our programs and activities possible. Adults who are interested in making a difference in a girl's life are encouraged to join us as we build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
