Girl Scouts of Connecticut Hosts Masquerade Gala; Local Service Units to be Honored
January 26, 2011
Girl Scouts of Connecticut is hosting a Masquerade Gala on Friday, February 4, 2011. The event will be held at the Stamford Marriott Hotel in Stamford, CT from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and guests are encouraged to come dressed to impress with their own masks or use their creative talents to make a one-of-a-kind mask at the event.
An evening of fun and fundraising, the Masquerade Gala will feature dinner, dancing, and a fabulous silent auction. Additionally, nine special Girl Scout Service Units will be honored for their exemplary work in developing programs for girls, their community and volunteer engagement as they create young women of courage, confidence and character. The honorees include Girl Scout Service Units in Amity, Ansantawae, Darien, Enfield, Greenwich, Green Pines, New Canaan, Ridgefield, and Shelton.
The public is encouraged to join the party and celebrate some special Girl Scouts while supporting the Girl Scout Program and Leadership Experience for young women.
Net proceeds from the Gala will support enrichment, educational, recreational, and personal development programs that help girls in grades K - 12 bring out the best in themselves and their communities. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience offers girls the lifetime skills they need to discover their personal best; connect with others to build healthy relationships; and take action in their communities to make the world a better place.
