Auction to Benefit Girl Scouts Sunday December 2 in Milford
November 19, 2007 — The 17th Annual Holiday Auction to benefit Girl Scouts of Connecticut will take place on Sunday December 2, 2007, at the Crown Corporate Campus in Milford from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to come and do some great holiday shopping while supporting a good cause and enjoying a bountiful assortment of hors d’oeuvres and desserts! A $12 ticket gains entry to this special afternoon loaded with intriguing opportunities.
The event will feature a Silent Auction starting at 1:30 p.m. and a Live Auction at 3 p.m. Great gift items up for bid during the Live Auction include a one-week stay in Florida (7 miles away from Disney), a Metro Retro Scooter, two tickets to the Broadway show Mary Poppins, a three-day-and-two-night stay for a family of four at Pinegrove Dude Ranch, and many other exciting items.
The Silent Auction will offer overnight packages; restaurant gift certificates; sports memorabilia; tickets to sporting events, TV shows, local theatres, and museums; gift baskets; and children’s items, to name a few.
Auctioneers for this special holiday event are Art Zetomer of the Park City Auction Service and Randye Kaye, local author and broadcast personality.
The event will support traditional and innovative programs delivered by dedicated volunteers and professional staff that offer Girls Scouts in grades K through 12 enrichment, educational, recreational, and life-skill activities. These programs help girls prepare themselves for the challenges of today and the future by instilling positive values, building leadership skills, and developing self-esteem.
To support this fundraiser, community members are invited to attend the event, provide sponsor funds, and donate auction items. For more information or for tickets, contact Joan Pollack, Special Events Coordinator, at 203-334-3145, x3016, or email@example.com.
