Girl Scouts Welcomes All Girls in Grades K & 1; It's not too late to sign up as a Daisy Girl Scout!
January 9, 2012
Daisies are popping up all over Connecticut! Don’t miss your chance to join them! Girls in Kindergarten and 1st grade are discovering the world around them, connecting with fellow girls, and making friends. Become a Girl Scout Daisy today and join the fun!
Daisies are the first level in Girl Scouting where girls discover themselves and the world around them, connect with others locally and globally, and take action to make the world a better place. Trained Leaders offer age-specific activities that foster learning in a caring and thoughtful way. As a Daisy Girl Scout, girls earn Daisy Petals through “hands-on” educational activities. The colorful petals include a light blue petal for being honest and fair, purple for respect of self and others, yellow for friendly and helpful, and an assortment of others. Daisies will also learn the basics of Girl Scouting through games and role play, work with their Leader to make decisions about their troop, and interact with their community through service projects.
As you open the door for the girl in your life to discover all of what Girl Scouts has to offer, consider joining the Girl Scout movement yourself. Volunteering a bit of your time or becoming a Troop Leader can make a big difference. It is also a great way to spend quality time with your special girl!
