Girls from New Britain Girl Scout Troop 66238 and 66244 had a rare opportunity to lead the Pledge of Allegiance for the 2012 Inauguration of Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and the newly elected Court of Common Council.

Asked by the Mayor’s Communications office to attend the ceremony at City Hall on January 3, the Girl Scouts were joined by several girls from Grace Academy of Hartford to say the pledge to those in attendance, including U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal.

“We are honored that Girl Scouts were invited to take part in the Mayor’s inauguration,” Girl Scouts of Connecticut CEO Jennifer Smith Turner said. “The girls did a fantastic job.”
