Girl Scouts of Connecticut Appoints New Chief Financial Officer

 

 

July 23, 2009 - Girl Scouts of Connecticut is pleased to announce the executive appointment of Tasha Jackson to Chief Financial Officer.

 

As Chief Financial Officer for the organization, Mrs. Jackson will be responsible for directing the fiscal function of the council. Additionally, she will support the council's CEO, Jennifer Smith Turner, in ensuring that resource allocation and utilization reflects and facilitates the achievement of the council's financial and programmatic goals. Mrs. Jackson will be working to help develop the council's budget, maintain control of the finances, manage the accounts and financial records, and prepare financial statements and reports.

 

Mrs. Jackson has more than 12 years experience as a senior level executive in the financial arena. Before joining Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Mrs. Jackson held the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Marketing Research Association in Glastonbury where she directed the organization's financial activities to fund operations and increase efficiency. She also worked as a Business Manager for the North American Family Institute in Waterbury and as a Regional Accountant for The Salvation Army in Hartford.

 

"Tasha is a wonderful addition to our team," said Jennifer Smith Turner, CEO, Girl Scouts of Connecticut. "Her years of experience in finance and her knowledge of business and management principles make her a vital asset to this organization."

 

Mrs. Jackson graduated from the University of Hartford with a B.S., Insurance & Finance and is working toward a M.B.A., Accounting from Post University in Waterbury.

 

Mrs. Jackson currently resides in Wethersfield.
