A press conference was held at the Capitol on Wednesday, March 3 to announce the Honorary Girl Scout Troop at the Capitol with Representative Denise Merrill as the Troop Leader.

An official Girl Scout pinning ceremony was held in the afternoon led by GSOFCT Board President Teresa Younger along with speeches from Troop Leader Denise Merrill, girl board members Katherine and Elizabeth and Girl Scouts who read official citations from the Executive Branch.





Girl board members Katherine from Niantic and Elizabeth from East Lyme along with GSOFCT staff and Board President met with several legislators in the morning to talk about Girl Scouting and our Healthy Living and Cyber Bullying initiatives. Pictured are Legislators Bob Godfrey from Danbury, Ed Jutila from Niantic, and Patricia Widlitz from Guilford who is also a member of the Honorary Girl Scout Troop at the Capitol.
