Weekly themes and unique creative activities make each session at Camp Carlson a special one. Girls get to explore their individuality and creativity as they enjoy all the activities that this traditional camp has to offer. Every girl receives swim instruction and girls entering grade 4 and up can try archery. Horseback riding lessons are available during selected sessions.

Camp hours
are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Before care is available at 7:30 a.m. for an additional $50 fee.

Camp is open July 4!


Bus service is provided within or near Avon, Berlin, Bristol, Canton, Cheshire, Cromwell, Farmington, Harwinton, Meriden, New Britain, Plainville, Southington, Thomaston, Torrington, Wallingford, and Wolcott. Not all buses run every session.

All girls are welcome - Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts.

Leadership Opportunities for Older Girls:

LEADership Development and Counselor in Training programs are available for girls entering grades 9-12 who are ready to take on the leadership role of helping younger girls enjoy all the great experiences at day camp. Participants will receive training to ensure the knowledge, tools, and skills necessary to succeed as a leader! Leadership program participants assist Unit Leaders and Program Staff by helping involve campers in program. Learn how to apply here.

Employment Opportunities

Volunteer and Employment Opportunities - We are looking for your special skills, spirit, and appreciation of children. Camp programs include swimming, hiking, campers, nature, sports, games, horseback riding, dramatics, singing, boating, cookouts, canoeing, and living in the outdoors. Enjoy the fun and rewards of meeting and working with other adults and children in the outdoors. Adults will receive training in outdoor skills, teamwork, health, and safety standards.
