Camp Timber Trails is a residential camp nestled in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains on 476 acres just over the Connecticut border in Tolland, Massachusetts.  Specialty areas include horseback riding, archery, boating, a low ropes course, arts & crafts, theatre, leadership building programs, and more. Girls spend each day working on general and themed-based activities of their choice. Evening programs consist of campfires, stargazing, all-camp games, and pack-outs.

Campers live in units with girls of the same age and program. Girls get the experience of sleeping in wood cabins with no electricity. There is a centrally located outdoor shower house. Each unit has four flushing toilets and washstands.   

As much girl planning as possible is done; each unit plans and participates in their own schedule of activities for the week. Girls then work with camp staff to further plan the schedule. Many of the camp activities relate to the specific program that the girls have signed up for but also include other fun camp options such as swimming, boating, hiking, crafts, outdoor cooking, songs, games, and more. Special all-camp events will be held throughout each week. These may include campfires, theme meals, or special games that bring everyone together.

All of this wrapped up in one camp makes Timber Trails a great place for your exciting outdoor summer adventure!  All girls welcomed - Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts.

Leadership Opportunities for Older Girls:

Counselor-in-Training (CIT), Wrangler-in-Training (WIT), and Leader-in-Training (LIT) - For girls entering grades 8-12 who are ready to take on the leadership role of helping younger girls enjoy all the great experiences at resident camp.  These specially designed leadership programs will show you how to develop and lead camp programs while increasing your communication and problem-solving skills.  Additional workshops during camp will help you learn about camp operation, diversity awareness, outdoor careers, and camping skills.  Each program will include individual and/or small group training opportunities with supervised hands-on experience working with younger campers.  Participants will receive the training needed to help ensure the knowledge, tools, and skills necessary for success in the leadership programs.

Our WIT program offers high school girls an opportunity to learn leadership and horsemanship skills.  During the WIT program, you will explore areas of child development through horse programs, program planning skills, horse operations, and the role of the horseback riding specialist.

Financial Assistance - Camperships are available on a limited basis. The $20 deposit is required to process the camp registration; however, if your camper is not granted financial assistance, the deposit will be refunded.  If you have questions about the deposit fee, please call the Registration Department at (800) 922-2770.

  Volunteer and Employment Opportunities - We are looking for your special skills, spirit, and appreciation of children. Camp programs include swimming, hiking, campers, nature, sports, games, horseback riding, dramatics, singing, boating, cookouts, canoeing, and living in the outdoors. Enjoy the fun and rewards of meeting and working with other adults and children in the outdoors. Adults will receive training in outdoor skills, teamwork, health, and safety standards.
