Caroline Sloat is a resident of Thompson.  She has been involved in Girl Scouts in Connecticut since 1986, when she first joined the board of directors of Connecticut Trails Council. Caroline held a number of positions and was board chair from 1994-2001. She chaired strategic planning from 2001-3 and developed a master plan for the Council's outdoor properties, including reactivating one. She served again briefly on the board as the council prepared for the merger, and was also the editor/writer of the last two editions of Tales of the Trails, the Council history.

Since the formation of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Caroline has been Regional Chair for Windham county.

Professionally, Caroline is director of scholarly publications at the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, Mass. This follows a long career in research and publications at Old Sturbridge Village.

In addition to Girl Scouts, she is an active volunteer with her church and the Mount Holyoke College Alumnae Association. She has held leadership positions with both groups.

Carol received her BA from Mount Holyoke, and MA in history from the University of Connecticut.

She is proud of her Elisabeth who earned her Gold Award.
