Girl Scouts of Connecticut: Mercedese (Ellie) Large

Mercedese E. (Ellie) Large is the Director of Claim Strategy, Customer Experience for the The Travelers Companies, Inc. in Hartford. She develops and drives initiatives for the entire claim organization (over 13,000 employees) that elevates the profile and benefits of customer experience so that it is valued as much as efficiency and effectiveness currently. She also serves as an ambassador for the customer experience concept throughout the company. She earned her M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and her B.A. in English and Spanish from Tufts University. She is an avid golfer, squash player, cook, and ceramicist. For the Girl Scouts of Connecticut, she has been part of the strategic planning committee member, a grant writer, and Badge Breakfast co-chair. She is also a Board member for CHI, Inc. and First Tee of Connecticut; a former corporator and active volunteer at Renbrook School; a former house committee member at The Country Club, Farmington; and a former trustee at Miss Porter’s School. She is the co-founder of The Bleeding Edge, a company dedicated to the PC gamer.
