Kim Sirois Pita is Managing Principal, Pita Communications LLC and Chief Operating Officer, Vrroomedia, LLC. Kim has more than 19 years of experience as a research strategist, professional writer, editor and public relations professional. She heads up agency operations and works as the primary marketing strategist for many of the agency's accounts. She worked as a congressional press secretary, communications manager and newspaper editor before starting the business in 1996. A graduate of Framingham State College with a BS in media communications and journalism, her perspectives on advertising have been published in the Hartford Business Journal, and she often makes presentations on overcoming stress and work/life balance. Kim is past president and honorary director of Rebuilding Together Hartford and serves on the Communications Advisory Committee of Foodshare of Greater Hartford. She is vice president of the Board of Directors of Hartford Children's Theatre and will serve for the second year as gala co-chair. She recently rejoined the Board of Directors of the Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce. A member of the Public Relations Society of America and National Association of Women Business Owners, she was the recipient of the CT Chapter March of Dimes 1997 Rookie Volunteer of the Year award, was named to the ³40 under 40² list by the Hartford Business Journal in 1999 and was honored with an Alumni Achievement Award from her alma mater in 2006. Kim and her company give back to the community in many ways through volunteer hours, donations and pro bono work supporting organizations such as My Sister's Place, Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame, YWCA, Riverfront Recapture, the Connecticut Forum, Reach Music Festival, United Way, Hartford Youth Scholars Foundation and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, among others. With her partner in business and in life Paul, she has two young children. |
