The Strategic Plan adopted for the council calls for us to develop a long-range property plan, and keeping everyone informed on the progress of our emerging property plan is a priority for the council. We have put together teams of staff and volunteers who have been working with a property consultant from GSUSA to create a comprehensive review of the properties, current programs, and usage. These teams will be at the Kickoffs at the end of August to gather more feedback.
TAKE OUR SURVEY!
We need your input! GSOFCT is conducting a survey as part of our Long Range Property Plan in order to gather feedback from our members. Included are questions about your experiences with our camps and service centers or what programming and features you are looking for in our properties - even if you haven’t visited them.
The survey will only take a few minutes of your time! Click here to get started.
The next step is to write the council's Long Range Property Plan using the research from these task groups, following the timeline below. Here is a printable version of the timeline with more information.
The fall meetings, scheduled at our various outdoor properties around the state, are intended to share the information that the three task groups—property, program, and marketing—have been gathering. The on-line surveys taken by adults and girl members have provided us with a wealth of information. The property group has visited each of the properties to update the in-depth surveys made at the time of realignment. The program staff has data based on the use of our properties and feedback related to on-site programs. This information will inform a fresh vision for outdoor program on Council properties. The volunteers and staff on each of the task forces are looking forward to gathering your input as part of the process of drafting a plan for the board.
The process then moves in January to the Board of Directors, which will review and comment on the preliminary plan. This draft will be reported out and workshopped at the February meetings. Based on these conversations, the Long Range Planning Team will create a second draft that the Board of Directors will review at the regularly scheduled March meeting.
Following that, in April, there will be a final round of meetings for comment on the plan before the Board votes on the plan at a special meeting to be scheduled in early May.
