Rachel Schwartz, Ridgefield - Young patients at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Danbury Hospital will begin their stay with a cozy stuffed friend, thanks to Rachel's Gold Award project. Her Pediatric Hospital Doll Project involved designing and creating patterns for dolls sporting hospital gowns. Rachel presented the idea to her church and local middle school's consumer science departments and the school liked her project so much that they decided to incorporate it into their curriculum.
