Sarah Angel-Johnson - Originally from Honolulu, Sarah Angel-Johnson moved to Poughkeepsie after she was hired by IBM in 1997 as a Software Engineer, Multimedia Specialist. Since then, she has been a Human Resources Diversity Program Manager, Human Resources Partner, Structural and Acoustical Solutions Manager, and Global Product Introduction Senior Manager/Program Director. In June 2010, she was selected to participate in an exclusive program, stepping temporarily out of management and spending a year apprenticing under a top senior IBM executive, Dr. Ambuj Goyal, General Manager, IBM Systems & Technology Group, Development & Manufacturing. During her assignment, she supported Dr. Goyal in his tactical and strategic goals for his 23,000 person global organization. Following her apprenticeship, she took a brief maternity leave, and in November 2011 she was announced in her first executive position as Executive Director of Leverage the Lab with the mission of accelerating technical solutions for worldwide client sales. Concurrent to her IBM career, in 2009 she started teaching Organizational Behavior as an adjunct professor for Marist College’s School of Management. Her education includes three years in Engineering Physics and a BS in Electronic Media Communications (Web Development) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Information Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Cornell University. During her free time, she loves motivational speaking, dancing (ballet, hula, and salsa), volunteering, reading, writing, traveling, and experiencing new adventures. Most importantly, at home she is a dedicated mother to her eight year old and five month old daughters, Kalani and Keala, as well as a devoted wife to her husband, Nicholas.
