Patricia (Trish) Bowen - Trish Bowen joined UnitedHealth Group in 2000 and is currently the Chief Compliance Officer of UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual (UHC E&I). Trish is responsible for advancing a culture of compliance in UHC E&I through a compliance program designed to prevent, detect and resolve instances of non-compliance. She is located in Hartford, Connecticut.
Prior to this role, Trish was Deputy General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for the Northeast Region of UnitedHealthcare, where her primary responsibilities were to drive close collaboration between the legal, legislative affairs and regulatory affairs teams supporting these regional business leaders, balance legal risks with business goals, and provide sound, proactive and fact-based legal advice to the business leaders. She began her career in the Uniprise law department as Associate General Counsel focused on business development, customer and vendor contract development and negotiations, legislative analysis, ERISA interpretation, and regulatory compliance, privacy, security and transactions & code sets. When Trish joined UnitedHealth Group in 2000, she was in a business role, focused on hospital contracting and network development activities in the Connecticut market. She brought to the company a mix of business and regulatory experience in health care that included physician and vendor contracting and government program management in Connecticut with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (now Wellpoint). In 2008, Trish was one of thirty executives from across UnitedHealth Group who participated in UHG’s six-month Executive Leadership Program which included a week in the Wharton Executive Education Program. She was recently selected and is currently in training to become facilitator of Our United Culture Unfreezing and Reinforcement Workshops in 2012 and beyond. Trish received her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law and has a degree in business and economics from Albertus Magnus College. She has been a member of the Connecticut Bar since 1990. She also engaged in her community as a member of the board of directors of The Bridge Family Center in West Hartford, Connecticut and as an active participant in UnitedHealth Group’s Pro Bono Program, assisting nonprofit organizations in Connecticut, including Girl Scouts of Connecticut, with a wide range of legal matters related to corporate structure and governance and compliance with state and federal requirements. |
