Book Camp

What issue did your Take Action project address?
The library wanted a fun event for younger children after school started for the kids older than them.

What was your Take Action Project? Who did you involve in your project?
I created Book Camp. Book camp was a combination of 'outdoor camping' and reading. The children made camping themed crafts, were read to inside a tent, and for snacks they made edible campfires and had mini s'mores. The town Library Director and members of my Troop were involved with my project.

What were the results? How did it affect the community?
The kids loved it and wanted to come again!

What did you learn from the experience?
I learned how to communicate better with adults, by working with the librarians. Introducing myself, explaining what I wanted to do, and finding out what they needed for the library, helped me with this. I also learned about planning an event.
