Madonna Badger, CCO/Founder of Badger & Winters and Susan Lasota, Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors to be honored
Organization will also honor Girl Scout Danielle from Bethel with Courage, Confidence, and Character Award
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CONN. (April 18, 2018) – On June 13, Girl Scouts of Connecticut invites all supporters and friends across the state to its 25th Annual Woman of Merit event where it will celebrate “25 Years of Fearless Women” and acknowledge all of its past Women of Achievement recipients. The fundraiser and dinner will run from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich.
The award is given in honor of Alice Pattison Merritt, an extraordinary public leader who became the first woman elected to the Connecticut Senate and who was instrumental in bringing Girl Scouting to girls in Connecticut. This year’s honorees feature two fearless women, Madonna Badger, CCO/Founder of Badger & Winters and Susan Lasota, Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors. The organization will also honor Girl Scout Danielle Wildman from Bethel, CT with the Courage, Confidence, and Character Award, which is awarded to a person who has overcome unique challenges in her life to make outstanding contributions to her community or achieve extraordinary success.
Dubbed the Lioness Who Roared, 30-year advertising veteran and founder of #WomenNotObjects, Madonna Badger remains Chief Creative Officer leading the brand, design, and advertising driving Badger & Winters’ success. In 2016, after announcing that she and her agency would no longer create imagery that objectifies women, the agency won Advertising Age Northeast Small Agency of the Year and the Gold award for best Digital Campaign for #WeSeeEqual, P&G’s global platform to take on unconscious bias. One year later, Badger & Winters won the JCPenney Agency of Record business with a new brand platform that focuses on what unites Americans in this time of deep division. The agency is proud to work with clients including Dick’s Sporting Goods, P&G, MetLife, Pepsi, EA, Beam Suntory, Vera Wang, Diane Von Furstenberg, Godiva, and Rodan + Fields. Madonna has been featured in Vogue and WWD, named one of Daily Variety’s “The Gotham 50,” Crain’s “Forty under Forty,” and has spoken at such events as Cannes Lions 2016, the Forbes Women’s Summit, and a Clinton Global Initiative panel on advertising and gender bias.
Susan Lasota is Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors and the Head of Operations and Technology for the recently acquired GE Asset Management business. State Street Global Advisors is the investment management division of State Street Corporation and the world's third largest asset manager, with nearly $2.8 trillion in assets under management as of 31 December 2017 In this role, she leads the Operations and Information Technology organizations, overseeing investment operations, data operations and governance, client onboarding, investment and trading systems, core technology, and enterprise solutions. Susan joined State Street Global Advisors in 2016 through its acquisition of GE Asset Management (GEAM). She joined GE in 2003 and has played a variety of senior leadership roles across GE Capital and GE Asset Management. She has over 20 years of experience supporting a variety of business functions and technologies and including 15 years in financial services. Prior to joining GE, she worked for several financial services companies. Susan attended Providence College and graduated with a degree in mathematics and computer science. She also attended the executive MBA program at Columbia University. She began her career in management consulting working with numerous clients in the telecom, pharmaceutical, and financial services industries.
