Camp Merrie-Wood, Manchester
Girls will be able to foster their individuality and grow as independent thinkers as they explore the mystery and wonder of the great outdoors. Girls will be mentored as they experience a blend of traditions and modern camping skills. Girls entering grades 4 and up can try out the archery range and sign up for an optional overnight that occurs every second week throughout the summer. The younger crowd will learn to navigate maps and secure tent lines. All of this is girl-led! Each week at camp, there will be a different theme celebrated in all of the camp activities. Swimming is not available at Camp Merrie-Wood.

Camp hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Before care is available at 7:30 a.m. for an additional $50 per week. After-camp care is also available until 5:30 p.m. for an additional $50 per week.

Camp is open July 4 but there will be no after care.

Bus service is provided within East Hartford, Enfield, Glastonbury, Hartford, Manchester, South Windsor, Windsor, Windsor Locks, and Vernon.

All girls are welcome!

Registration
This year, all summer camp registrations will be online.
During the registration process, if you are not already a member of Girl Scouts, you can register your child to become a Girl Scout (required to attend camp). A $50 deposit for each session is required at time of camp registration. Payment in full is due by June 1. If registering after June 1, full payment is due at time of registration.

  • Cookie Credits are doubled when used to pay for GSOFCT Summer Camp!
  • Cookie Credits cannot be used towards deposit and are not redeemable online.
  • You will receive an email confirmation upon registering with a link to the Parent Handbook which gives you detailed information about your girl's camp experience.
  • A separate email will be sent to you from Camp Doc with required health form information for you to fill out within two weeks of registration.
  • An administrative charge of $10 will be added for program changes.
  • We accept Care 4 Kids.

In order to receive the two-week discount, you must register for both weeks, back to back,  individually. Once you get to the payment screen, you will see the discount reflected there. To make the registration process a little faster, be sure to use the “Add someone I’ve signed up before” button when registering for additional weeks.

Cancellations and Refunds
Girl Scout Membership fee is non-refundable. Cancellations and refunds must be requested in writing and sent to camp@gsofct.org.

Prior to May 1, cancellation refunds will be made minus a single $20 processing fee.
After May 1, cancellation refunds will be made minus the $50 deposit for each session.

Cancellations made within two weeks of camp attendance will not receive any refund. Exceptions to policy can be made, minus the deposit, with a doctor's note indicating illness or injury preventing attendance, or notice of summer school attendance.

Financial Assistance
Financial aid is available on a limited basis. Both online registration and financial aid form are required to be considered. The financial aid application is within the registration form. To fill the financial aid form out, you must go into the registration portal for the camp you selected. On the first full page of information that you are required to fill out, on the bottom of that page, there is a question asking if you would like to apply for financial aid. You can then click yes to apply and the form will pop up for you to fill out. Remember, you must complete the registration form, and pay the $50 deposit per week that is required to process the camp registration and financial aid request; however, if your camper is not granted financial assistance, the deposit will be refunded. If you have questions about the deposit fee, please contact camp@gsofct.org
