Farm to Feast - Juniors
Juniors: 4th-5th Graders - A Little dirt never hurt! Join us for this virtual interactive experience as we show you how to grow and take care of different vegetable and herbs. Create your own beautiful garden at home while earning your Flower and Gardner badges (plants are not included in this activity and you do not need to grow plants to participate). Once our plants grow and provide produce, we will learn how to cook some amazing meals and earn our Simple Meals badge.
We will meet virtually every two weeks with action items to complete in-between sessions. We will also have some experts join us to go over the importance of nutrition and learn about different types of food systems. After you have completed the virtual gardening and nutrition course, you will have earned three badges and have a new garden that you can take care of all summer long (if you chose to grow your own garden)! So grab your shovel and your cooking utensils as we embark on this adventure together.
An e-mail confirmation will also be sent a few days before the start of the series and will include information for the zoom meetings and google classroom.
Adult Supervision: Adults are only required to be present in the house, not necessarily on the webinar.
Program fee: $15 per girl member
Program fee includes: guided instruction, badge(s) earned during series, 6 interactive meetings via Zoom, and the opportunity to connect and network within the Girl Scout community (locally and possibly nationally)
