Ready to sleep under the sea... without getting wet? Spend the night at the New York Aquarium for an unforgettable underwater adventure! This overnight program invites Junior Girl Scouts to explore the Ocean Wonders: Sharks! exhibit after hours, meet live marine animals, and discover what it takes to care for ocean ecosystems. With behind-the-scenes access, interactive activities, and a movie under the glow of the reef, this is a night to remember.
Shark Sleepover Highlights:
Explore the aquarium at night during private evening hours
Meet a live marine animal during a special encounter
Go behind
the scenes of the aquarium's habitats and filtration systems
Create your own pillowcase to remember the night
Enjoy a movie,
late-night snack, and breakfast the next morning
💡 Badge Alignment: While no specific badge is earned during this program, Girl Scouts will deepen their understanding of marine life, environmental stewardship, and STEM careers in aquarium science. Girl Scouts (and adult attendees) will recieve a patch.
Who Can Attend?
This program is open to Junior Girl Scouts (grades 4-5).
Troop
participation is strongly encouraged, as space is limited. Individual
Girl Scouts may register with an attending parent or guardian who is a
current GSUSA member.
Registration Information
📝 Registration Deadline: November 4 at 11:59 PM - $120 per person.
📝 Adventureships: Every Girl Scout deserves the chance to explore, lead, and grow-no matter their family's financial situation. That's why we offer Adventureships: easy, confidential support to help cover the cost of participation. If cost is a concern, let us know. We're here to make sure the adventure is always within reach.
Additional Notes
📌 Check-in is between 6:00-6:30 PM on December 6.
📌 Please
bring a sleeping bag, pillow, personal items, and a reusable water
bottle. No flip-flops or Crocs.
📌 A light evening snack and
breakfast are included.
📌 Parking is included for all
participants.

activity before or after the overnight-stay tuned for more!
