Taking Advantage of Learning Opportunities
Girl Scouts strives to provide you with the necessary information to successfully manage your group of girls, and to let you know how and where you can get additional information on certain topics when you want to learn more. Volunteer learning is offered in a variety of ways to best meet your unique learning styles: written resources, face-to-face learning, interactive online learning—and additional methods are being developed and tested all the time.
GSOFCT is committed to providing volunteers with ongoing adult educational opportunities. Learning and developing new skills and insights are all part of the Girl Scout program, and not just for the girls! Knowledgeable and skilled volunteers have the ability to offer the highest quality programming for girls while staying safe and having fun at the same time.
Along with the Core Leadership Requirements, the Volunteer Services Department offers a variety of learning opportunities including First Aid/CPR/AED and outdoor skills. In addition, there are regional training events throughout the year that will allow you to take a number of enrichment courses in one day. Finally, if you are unable to attend a training session in person, home study versions of several trainings may be available.
