This week campers will focus their efforts on various aspects of
paddling in canoes. From lakes, to rivers, to island camping - learn
how to safely paddle in nature. Campers will be in their own unit at
Camp Laurel and will focus primarily on paddling skills and safety. As
time permits, they may also participate in swimming, archery, and
more. Meals may be in the dining hall or packed and brought with them.
Travel may include day trips to the CT River, Burr Pond, or Bluff
Point Coastal Reserve - or other similar style trips as scheduling and
weather allows.
When Girl Scouts sign up for Adventure
Camp, they're signing up for an immersive week of learning and fun!
Campers in these programs must be rising 6th graders and up. Spaces
are limited to 10 campers per week, regardless of which adventure is
chosen. Adventure camp weeks are overseen by an Outdoor Adventure
specialist and include multiple day trips off-site.
