Election Week Cookie Sales (EWCS, November 1 - 10, 2024) is a limited fall cookie sale that is part of our council’s Girl Scout Cookie Program®. EWCS offers customers a chance to stock up on their favorite Girl Scout Cookies and is an opportunity for Girl Scouts to help build their troop treasuries so they can participate in programs and events they help choose.
It is also an opportunity for Girl Scouts to gain experience in the five skills of the Girl Scout Cookie Program:
- Goal setting
- Decision making
- Money management
- People skills
- Business ethics
The Cookie Line-Up
The following cookie varieties will be available: Adventurefuls™, Lemon-Ups®, Trefoils®, Do-si-dos®, Samoas®, Tagalongs®, Thin Mints®, and Girl Scout S’mores.
Girl Scouts also should offer customers the opportunity to purchase cookies for the Cookies for Heroes Program.
All cookies are $6 per package, including Girl Scout S’mores® and cookies purchased for the Cookies for Heroes program.
How to Participate
Troops reserve cookies and indicate how troop members will participate by completing the EWCS Sign-up. The deadline for submitting this form is Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 3PM.

Types of Sales
Booth Sales - pop-up cookie shops where troops/families sell cookies to the public. Generally held at: polling places, local businesses, community events:
In-person Troop booth sales
In-person Family booth sales
In-person Drive-thru booth sales
General Sales – All sales that are not taking place at a booth.
Family & Friends sales
- Walkabouts sales
- Virtual booth sales
Types of booth sales
In-person Troop Booth Sales
- Two adults must always be present. One adult must be a registered GSOFCT volunteer.
- If the booth sale is held on private / non-commercial property, the homeowner is to complete the Private Residence Authorization Form.
In-person Family Booth Sales
- Organized by a family with at least one participating Girl Scout. Only Girl Scouts in the same family can participate in this kind of booth sale.
- If the booth sale is held on private / non-commercial property, the homeowner is to complete the Private Residence Authorization Form.
In-person Drive-thru Booth Sales
- Possible locations: Mall parking lot, church/synagogue, business
- Use traffic cones/barriers to keep vehicles at a safe distance from Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts should never enter customer vehicles.
Guidelines for Booth Sales:
When setting up a booth sale, coordinate with any of the following to ensure you’re following guidelines specific to your service unit:
- Service Unit Manager
- Service Unit Cookie Manager
- Service Unit Booth Coordinator
Girl Scout cookie booths CANNOT be held in partnership with the following:
- bars
- tobacco stores
- liquor stores
- marijuana dispensaries, etc.
If you wish to hold a booth sale outside of your service unit, contact the service unit manager of the specified area. You’ll need approval from your service unit manager.
Cookies must be stored off the ground. Take empty cases with you at the end of your sale.

Types of General Sales
Virtual Booth Sales:
Sales hosted via social media. This could include:
Livestreams
Promotional posts on Instagram / Facebook
Invitations to purchase via email/text
NOTE: Girl Scouts and families MUST review Digital Marketing Tips for Cookie Entrepreneurs and Families AND Supplemental Safety Tips for Online Marketing documents before hosting a virtual booth.
Walkabout Sales:
Girl Scouts / troops can walk through a familiar neighborhood and take orders with their Cookie Order Card or distribute cookies in hand. Consider bringing door hangers (include prices, accepted payment types, and adult contact info) to leave at houses where no one is home.
Adults must accompany: Daisy, Brownies, and Juniors on walkabouts. Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors can use the buddy system.
Family & Friends Sales:
- Girl Scouts can take orders from friends and family and record them on their Cookie Order Card.
Guidelines For General Sales:
Make sure you have your cookie order card with you
Sell to friends and family
Only walk through familiar neighborhoods during the day

Additional Information
Cookies for Heroes
Cookies for Heroes is the council’s Gift of Caring program. Customers can choose to donate cookies to women and men serving in the military, veterans, and local heroes.
Cookies sold for Cookies for Heroes are $6 per package.
The Cookies for Heroes flyer and the box wrap should be prominently displayed at in-person booth sales and included as part of a virtual booth presentation.
Packages sold for the Cookies for Heroes Program do not come from a troop/Girl Scout's cookie inventory. The troop/Girl Scout and family collect money due for these packages from the customer, and GSOFCT works with partner organizations to deliver Cookies for Heroes packages to recipients.
Keep a tally sheet or record of how many packages are sold for the program.
Payment due for Cookies for Heroes packages should be collected from the customer and included in the amount deposited into the troop bank account.
Election Week Cookie Sales Patch:
The EWCS patch order form will be available beginning November 4, 2024. Girl Scouts are eligible to earn the limited edition 2024 EWCS patch when the following requirements are met:
- Troop submits the ACH authorization by October 18, 2024.
- Troop picks up and returns cookies, if needed, by mutual arrangement with the cookie cupboard manager. All cookies must be returned no later than November 15, 2024.
- Girl Scouts promote the Cookies for Heroes Program to all customers.
- Troop submits the EWCS patch order form by Friday, November 15, 2024.
