At Girl Scouts of Connecticut, we’re here to help them shine. Behind every Girl Scout and volunteer is a team of local staff ready to help them earn that next badge, embark on a camping adventure, or organize an impactful service project. That’s what a Girl Scout council is: we maintain camp properties, deliver skill-building activities, and provide the resources Girl Scouts need to achieve whatever they can dream up.

Today, we proudly serve more than 16,000 youth members and over 9,000 adult members across Connecticut through 88 volunteer-managed Service Units. And now, we’re taking the next step forward.

As we begin the 2025–2026 Membership Year, GSOFCT is excited to introduce our new Community model; a bold framework designed to strengthen connections and enhance support for volunteers, members, and local Girl Scout communities.

Our council is now organized into five regional Communities—Southwest, Northwest, South Central, Northeast, and Southeast. Each Community features:

A dedicated Member Experience team supporting Service Units and troops
A designated Member Experience Specialist as the primary contact for Service Unit Managers, volunteers, and families

With 88 Service Units, 5 Communities, and 1 Council, we’re building stronger networks, streamlining support, and creating even more successful Girl Scout experiences across Connecticut.

Looking Ahead: A New Chapter for Girl Scouts of Connecticut

This fall, Girl Scouts of Connecticut began a new chapter. We signed a contract for the sale of our Hartford Service Center to Hartford Healthcare and vacated November 30, 2025. During the transition, our Hartford-based staff will be temporarily relocated to our North Haven office.

We know our Hartford headquarters holds a special place in the hearts of many of us. It has been a hub for countless memories, milestones, and moments of impact. While we honor this rich history, we are equally excited about the opportunities ahead.

The Hartford Retail Store has temporarily relocated. Visit GSOFCT Shop for details on all shop hours and locations or shop online.

Update: We’re excited to share that GSOFCT has secured a new Hartford location that is currently being renovated to better serve girls, families, and volunteers. More details, including the address and opening date, will be shared once the space is ready to welcome the community.

FAQs: Hartford Service Center Transition

Why is Girl Scouts of Connecticut selling the Hartford Service Center?
Post-covid, the Hartford Service Center became much less utilized by staff, volunteers and members. Hartford HealthCare has expanded its footprint and expressed interest in purchasing our building. This sale supports our long-term sustainability and allows us to find a new location that better meets today’s needs for membership, retail sales and staff operations.

Where will the proceeds go? Money from the sale of the Hartford property will be reinvested in the new location.

Who purchased the building? Hartford Healthcare has signed a purchase agreement for the Hartford Service Center.

When will the move happen? We will vacate the Hartford Service Center by November 30, 2025.

What is our official corporate address now? Our corporate address is: 20 Washington Avenue North Haven, CT 06473

Where will the new office be? We are in the final stages of due diligence on a desirable location in Hartford County. Once contracts are signed, we will share details.

What if the new location isn’t ready in time? We have a contingency plan to ensure operations continue smoothly if there is any gap between leaving Hartford and opening the new site.

How will staff and volunteers be supported during the move? A dedicated project team is coordinating logistics. Staff have been given guidance on packing, shredding, and moving items. Volunteers and members will receive timely updates via email, Rallyhood, the website, and our monthly newsletter.

Will this affect programs or membership services? All programs and member services will continue uninterrupted during the transition except for the closure of the Hartford Shop. The North Haven, Lebanon, & Wilton shops will remain open.

Will there be a chance to say goodbye to the Hartford Service Center? Yes. We will host a commemorative gathering at the Hartford Service Center before closing its doors, to honor its history and celebrate the future. Register for the event here

When will the Hartford Retail Store close? The last day of operation for the Hartford Retail Store is Friday, November 14, 2025. After that date, members can shop at the North Haven retail location or online.
