Key Dates Calendar

September 14: Volunteers can begin registering for the program at gsnutsandmags.com/gsofct
September 18: Watch the Virtual Rally
Prior to October 2: Distribute order cards and family flyers to each Girl Scout and send the Family/Adult Welcome email
October 2: Order taking begins (in-person and online)
- Parents/guardians can register Girl Scouts and set up storefronts at https://gsnutsandmags.com/gsofct
October 30: ACH Authorization due (if not already on file)
November 11 (by 11:59pm): In-person order taking ends and parent deadline to enter in-person orders into M2 site.
November 12-13 (by 11:59pm): Troops may enter paper order card data
November 15 (by 11:59pm): Online ordering closes
December 4: ACH Payments from/to troop accounts initiated
December 2-5: Nut & candy delivery for service units
January 2027: Girl Scout rewards ship to service units

Treats & Reads is Girl Scouts of Connecticut's Fall Product Program

Treats & Reads offers customers nut and candy items, magazines (new subscriptions and renewals) and other exciting products for purchase. Girl Scouts can participate in-person and/or online.

By participating, Girl Scouts have the opportunity to fund amazing troop experiences and projects, while being introduced to five important skills:

Goal setting
Decision making
Money management
People skills
Business ethics

Girl Scouts and troops are actively involved in making decisions and setting goals - key activities in their entrepreneurial journey.

Earn Treats & Reads Patches toggle arrow

Patch	Requirements
Kangaroo Patch	Earn 3+ magazine subscriptions, Tervis tumblers, candles, personalized products, and/or BarkBox items.
2026 Patch	Send 18+ emails through the M2 system.
Ready to Explore Patch	Sell 10+ nut/candy items.
Care to Share Patch	Make 5+ Care to Share donations.
Treats & Reads Personalized Patch	Create your avatar in the online storefront; send 18+ marketing emails through the M2 site; use the Share My Site function on the Girl Scout online dashboard; and sell $300+ during the Treats & Reads Program
Girl Scout Cookie Crossover Personalized Patch	During the Treats & Reads Program: create your avatar in the online storefront, send 18+ marketing emails through the M2 site, and use the Share My Site function. During the 2027 Girl Scout Cookie Program: sell 160+ packages of cookies (excluding 2026 Election Week Cookie Sales).

* The Care for the Kangaroos choice is a donation to an organization working to protect kangaroos. Girl Scouts who choose the philanthropic reward option will earn a special custom patch.

Troop

Troops will be entered into a drawing to receive an Ice Cream Party Kit if they send out the Parent/Adult Email Campaign by October 16th.

Resources for Getting Started

Parents & Girl Scouts toggle arrow

Registered Girl Scouts and their parent/guardian should review the Parent letter and information provided by the troop volunteer (including the paper order card).
Register for the program and create your online profile.
Create an online storefront and begin to ask friends and family to support the troop by making a purchase both in person and online on and after October 2nd.

Complete Troop Treats & Reads training and review Treats & Reads Troop Envelope and Program Guide as needed.
