Meet the Asian Elephant:
Our 2024 Treats & Reads mascot is the Asian Elephant! They are the largest mammal in Asia and are extremely sociable. Asian Elephants form female groupings and use low frequency sound waves to communicate.
Treats & Reads is Girl Scouts of Connecticut's Fall Product Program.
By participating, Girl Scouts have the opportunity to fund amazing troop experiences and projects. The program is a great introduction to five important skills:
- Goal setting
- Decision making
- Money management
- People skills
- Business ethics
Girl Scouts and troops are actively involved in making decisions and setting goals, which are vital in progressing through their entrepreneurial journey.
With the Treats & Reads Program, customers can purchase nut and candy items, magazines (new subscriptions and renewals) and other exciting products. The nut and candy items are a customer favorite, with 16 varieties available for in person orders and 29 products available online.
Girl Scouts can participate in the Treats & Reads program in person and/or online. If they choose to sell online, customers can select between in-person delivery or direct shipping. Their online storefront offers exclusive items that customers won’t find anywhere else, such as magazines, Barkboxes, and more.
The order taking window starts 9/20/2024 and closes 11/5/2024.

Getting Started:
Parents & Girl Scouts
- Registered Girl Scouts and their parent/guardian should review the Parent letter and information provided by the troop volunteer (including the paper order card).
- Register for the program.
- Create an online storefront and begin to ask friends and family to support the troop by making a purchase both in person and online.
Volunteers
- Ensure you are an approved, registered member for 24-25 membership year.
- Complete Troop Treats & Reads training and review Treats & Reads Troop Envelope and Program Guide as needed.
- Check your inbox for a link to login to the M2 site. Email will be dated: 9/16. If you have questions email customer care: customercare@gsofct.org.
- Log into your account here.
Everyone
- Watch the Treats & Reads Rally video. It is a great way to introduce Girl Scouts to the Treats & Reads Program or for returning Girl Scouts to get the inside scoop on what is new this year.
- Print out the Goal Tracker before watching the rally. Have a pen, crayons, scissors, paper, and tape, brad fastener or paperclip before watching the rally.
- Refer to this list of videos for additional training.
Girl Scouts can watch the rally as a troop or on their own. All Girl Scouts that view the rally are eligible to earn the Treats & Reads Rally patch.
