Introduction to Fossils: Discover the Past
Step back in time
and uncover the secrets of the ancient world in our Introduction to
Fossils event! This hands-on class will transport participants to a
time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Girl Scouts will explore real
fossils, learn how they are formed, and even create their own fossil
replicas. Get ready for a day of discovery, science, and fun!
Key Activities:
Learn Fossil Formation: Discover how fossils
form over millions of years and what they can tell us about
prehistoric life.
Create Your Own Fossil: Craft a fossil
replica from clay and imprint it with leaves, shells, or small objects
to understand the process.
💡 Badge Alignment: This event
supports the Outdoor Art Explorer and Outdoor Art Apprentice badges,
giving participants a hands-on introduction to paleontology and the
science of fossils.
