Step into the past and discover the roots of Girl Scout greatness with Trefoil Time Machine: The Founding Era (1910s-1920s).
Travel back in time to the earliest days of Girl Scouting, when campfires crackled, telegrams buzzed, and girls blazed new trails in a changing world. In this immersive, hands-on journey through the 1910s and 1920s, Girl Scouts explore life during the movement's founding era and uncover how courage, confidence, and character have shaped our legacy from the very beginning.

Through themed crafts, role-play, and storytelling, Girl Scouts will dive into the Girl Scout experience of a century ago-and make meaningful connections to who they are today.

Badge in a Box is a fun self-guided rental experience where Girl Scouts can engage in Pillar activities their troop using council-provided materials. Each box includes everything you need to complete a full program!

This Badge in a Box allows Daises to complete their Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout Petal and Brownies & Juniors will complete The Girl Scout Way badges through the lens of early 20th-century Girl Scouting. They will also recieve the Girl Scout Museum Patch. 

Time Travelers Will:

🕰 Dress & Discover - Try on the past with vintage-inspired fashion elements, etiquette games, and Girl Scout customs from the 1910s and 1920s.

📜 Create & Curate - Make period-appropriate crafts like telegram-style postcards, nature notebooks, or DIY troop flags to reflect life in the founding era.

💬 Act & Reflect - Step into the shoes of an early Girl Scout through role-play, historical scenarios, and guided reflection on how values and traditions have evolved.

Designed to make Girl Scouting stress-free, Badge in a Box includes most of the things you need to complete the badge at home or with your troop - from easy-to-follow instructions to the badge itself! Explore exciting topics like early Girl Scout traditions, leadership, and social change through fun, tangible activities.

Boxes are suitable for troops of up to 15 Girl Scouts - Troop Leaders will complete registration. Each box will be set for 15 Girl Scouts. Some additional household materials, such as markers, pencils, or scissors, may be required. Full information will be included with the curriculum.

To ensure a smooth process, please order your Badge in a Box at least two weeks prior to the desired date.
When ordering the box, a deposit of $25 will be due; the remaining balance ($50) will be automatically withdrawn at the end of the month.

An email will be sent out to registrants with confirmation details-including delivery or pick-up information-within 7 business days of purchase. If your registration is placed on the waitlist, a GSE staff member will reach out once the box becomes available.

We agree that members of our group will be respectful of each other, the equipment, and the environment. We understand that the processing of payment does not guarantee equipment rental and that until we receive a GSOFCT confirmation, the Badge in a Box is not yet booked for our use. We understand that GSOFCT equipment and program kits may be rented to multiple groups, back to back, and we will be respectful and promote the Girl Scout Promise and Law with other groups. We understand that all supplies rented will need to be returned in the condition we received them; should there be any missing or damaged items we agree to additional charges.
