Earn your Horseback Rider Badge at this event! Meet the horses, tack and groom them, care for them (muck a stall or two!), feed and water them, and go for a short ride in the ring to complete this badge. This is a Junior Badge, and only Girl Scouts who have completed grades 4 or 5 (current Girl Scout Juniors) may attend this event. For Girl Scouts who have completed grade 3 (rising Juniors) please see the "Horse Of Course" event. For safety, troop and family adults must attend (at a ratio of 1 adult for every 8 Girl Scouts) but will not have access to the barn or horse corrals; there will be designated "adult supervision" areas where you will need to remain during the event. It is recommended that you review GSUSA Safety Activity Checkpoints before attending this event. For safety reasons, this event is not open to tagalongs or Girl Scouts younger than Juniors. Girl Scouts who plan to ride the horses must wear long pants, and a sturdy shoe or sneaker. No open toe shoes at this event. All Girl Scouts MUST wear a riding helmet which will be provided to you by GSOFCT at no extra charge.  Adult supervision is required. All adults attending must have a registration for this event and must comply with all standards based on GSUSA and GSOFCT policies and procedures. Girl Scouts not attending with a troop must have a parent or guardian with current GSUSA membership register to attend with them. No tagalongs (siblings, unregistered adults) will be permitted to stay at this event. Early registration discount until 7/4/2025.  Questions?
