Gain confidence by getting comfortable with fire safety and building a successful fire. During this event Girl Scouts will learn the basics of fire building: How to safely light a match, find the best firewood, decide which kind of wood structure to build and how to properly extinguish a fire. We will focus on safety, building confidence and skill set, the Seven Leave No Trace principles and respecting the environment. This event is for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and their adults.
Completing this event will help Girl Scouts work on the following badges: Daisy Buddy Camper, Brownie Cabin Camper and Junior Camper.
Adult supervision is required. All adults attending must have a registration for this event and must comply with all standards based on GSUSA and GSOFCT policies and procedures. Girl Scouts not attending with a troop must have a parent or guardian with current GSUSA membership register to attend with them. No tagalongs (siblings, unregistered adults) will be permitted to stay at this event.
Please review ratios for supervision for Girl Scout events before registering for this event. Troop volunteers are encouraged to check GSUSA Safety Activity checkpoints for activities to ensure Girl Scouts are ready to participate.
