Go behind the scenes at The Firestone Art Studio and Cafe in Manchester, CT. In this STEAM-focused event, Girl Scouts will explore the behind-the-scenes science and engineering of the kiln room. They'll learn how temperature, timing, and materials all interact to turn raw clay and glass into beautiful, finished works of art. We'll also discuss the importance of safety procedures, temperature monitoring, and how math and measurements play a key role in firing schedules. Backstage Pass brings Girl Scouts right into the action with professionals in various fields, allowing them a behind-the-scenes look the day to day of different careers.

Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to take a Glass Fusing workshop where they will create one 2''x4'' glass suncatcher. This is a drop off program facilitated by The Firestone Art Studio and Cafe staff. Girl Scouts should wear items clothing they won't worry about getting messy and closed toed shoes. The final deadline to register is February 25 at 5:00 PM ($36).
