Give for Girls

Why you should give.
One person can make a Girl Scout’s wish come true. You are that person.

Girls throughout Connecticut are depending upon us — you and me — to make their Girl Scout experience educational, rewarding, and fun!

  • Give a girl a summer to remember, where she will learn new skills, make new friends, and become more confident!

  • Give her access to the best leadership development experience for girls in the world.

  • Making an unrestricted gift allows GSOFCT to fund the areas of immediate and operational need.

Ways to Give

Girl Scouts of Connecticut accepts a variety of payment methods. All gifts given to GSOFCT are tax-deductible.

Pledges
Making a pledge allows you to pay your donation over time, either in payments or in one lump sum. To make a pledge, please contact Melissa Bellanceau.

Gifts of Securities

A gift of appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year is frequently the most economical way to give. You will be eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income and will not have to recognize the appreciation as capital gain.

When making an outright gift of stock, a donor typically transfers the stock to Girl Scouts of Connecticut. The donor is credited with the value of the stock when it is sold by Girl Scouts of Connecticut and provided with the appropriate charitable income tax deduction letter.

Please Note: It is extremely important that you notify our Chief External Relations Officer, Melissa Bellanceau, transferring securities to GSOFCT. Securities cannot be sold until the donor has been identified. This can impact the value of the gift.  Additionally, your name and address are required for tax deduction and acknowledgement purposes.
