Girl Scouts can acquire leadership skills and get practical experience working in a variety of settings at our Girl Scouts Summer Camps. Apply for our Program Aid (PA) or Counselor in Training (CIT) programs.
To apply, please register for your program and submit your completed application along with two letters of recommendation. Once your application is received, a staff member will reach out to you to set up an interview. An active Girl Scouts membership is also required—financial aid is available. Acceptance is not guaranteed. Should you not be accepted into the Leadership program, we will inform you of other opportunities to participate in at our camps.

Put your passion into action as we explore the basics of leadership skills needed to work with younger campers, practice planning for activities, and find out what it takes to help out at camp with younger campers. This program is designed for girls who have a love for camp and have demonstrated a strong desire to develop basic leadership skills.

Are you a motivated and aspiring leader looking to develop invaluable skills while having a blast at camp? Our 2–week Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed just for you! At GSOFCT, we believe in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, and our CIT program is the perfect stepping stone for Girls who are enthusuastic about becoming future camp staff members. This transformative experience offers young women in high school the opportunity to gain hands-on leadership esperience, build self-confidence, and foster teamwork, all while being immersed in the beauty of the great outdoors.
Do you love working with younger kids? Girls have a chance to shine as younger campers look up to them as role models. In addition to being a CIT, girls will get to enjoy all of the fun camp has to offer. CITs will focus on building their leadership skills and being a role model. CITs will get to choose a second week of their choice in addition to this week – their second week cannot be LIT week if they are choosing to also participate in LIT Training.
This program is more than just training; it’s an opportunity for personal growth, learning essential workplace competencies, and developing leadership skills. Join us in our mission to train the next generation of lifeguards and ensure the safety of our aquatic environments. While not in training, participants in this program will get opportunities to shoot on the archery range, paddle on the lake, and participate in other traditional sleepaway camp activities! Campers must be 15 years of age or older to participate. Campers may choose to participate in the CIT and LIT programs however, the LIT week can not be their included second week of training for CIT training.
