Shelton, CT — On November 15, Daisy and Brownie Troop 60061 demonstrated the power of community service by organizing a drive to benefit the Shelton Animal Shelter.
The scouts collected much-needed supplies for the shelter, ensuring that animals in their care have the essentials they need. In addition to the donations of goods, the troop raised $180 in cash contributions, further supporting the shelter’s ongoing work.
The girls had a wonderful time not only receiving donations but also purchasing items themselves for the cats and dogs. Their shopping trip was filled with excitement, and they all fell in love with a playful cat pickle toy, a reminder of the joy their efforts bring to the animals they are helping.
Leaders noted that the project gave the girls an opportunity to learn about the importance of caring for animals while also making a tangible difference in their community. By combining teamwork, compassion, and initiative, Troop 60061 showed how even the youngest scouts can have a meaningful impact. Their contributions will help the Shelton Animal Shelter continue to provide safe and loving care for animals in need.
