Wolcott, CT — Girl Scout Troop 64222, a group of 4th grade Juniors, has launched a community service project to support families and their pets. The troop organized a pet food drive to benefit the Wolcott Food Pantry, recognizing that when families struggle to put food on the table, their pets often face the same challenge.
To encourage donations, the scouts created colorful posters and placed two collection boxes in convenient locations: the town’s grocery store and the public library. These drop-off points make it easy for residents to contribute pet food and supplies, helping ensure that local families don’t have to choose between feeding themselves and their beloved animals.
Troop leaders praised the initiative as a creative way to teach empathy and responsibility while addressing a real need in the community. By combining teamwork and compassion, Troop 64222 is making a meaningful difference for both people and pets in Wolcott.
